Horacio Macuacua
The Mozambican dancer and choreographer Horacio Macuacua is the artistic director of the dance company that bears his name. Horacio Macuacua develops projects that aim to go beyond established forms. His compositions are daunting and complex, displaying depth and playfulness, darkness and light.
He has carried out his projects COMUM, Orobroy, Stop!, Smile If You Can, Fighting room, Convoy, Paradise is not in the sky!, TEKA, Birds don’t just fly and UN Baile, as well as the solo pieces Trampled Rose and Carbón con patas.
Horacio has collaborated with choreographers Cristina Moura, Panaibra Canda, Thomas Hauert, Wim Vandekeybus/Última Vez, and David Zambrano, considering him his maestro and mentor.
He teaches workshops and classes at festivals and schools in France, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, USA, Brazil, South Korea, South Africa, Mozambique, and others.
