Dançando com a Diferença

Dançando com a Diferença is a dance company founded in 2001, in Madeira. In 2005, it became a resident company at Mudas, the Museu de Arte Contemporânea da Madeira. Since 2014, the company has a close relationship with Teatro Viriato as a Resident Project. Due to its work on multiple fronts, the company is national and internationally perceived as the seeds of relevant artistic, pedagogical and awareness raising work for social inclusion. It has been successfully welcomed by both, the public and enthusiasts of inclusive dance, schools and institutions.
Artistic director Henrique Amoedo, created the DANÇA INCLUSIVA /INCLUSIVE DANCE concept within an academic context in 2002, health (therapeutic support), education and art go together. Dancing with a Difference is a triad that aims at individual appreciation.
All these axes of action contribute to an update of the discourse related to people with disabilities, ensuring that there is space for different bodies and different perspectives in the field of contemporary dance.
In its repertoire, the company counts 32 productions, including works by names of great national and international importance, such as Henrique Rodovalho, Clara Andermatt, Rui Horta, Paulo Ribeiro, Rui Lopes Graça, Tânia Carvalho and La Ribot.
