for students & professionals
1 – 3 PM Café Ada, Wiesenstraße 6, 42105 Wuppertal

In this workshop, Alexandre Achour will reflect on his impressions of working with his Fellowship partner Xavier Le Roy and invite participants to reflect on Le Roy's exhibition Retrospective for gallery spaces and Le Roy and Scarlet Yu’s artwork Still untitled for public spaces. Alexandre is particularly interested in how these two artworks transform the way people encounter art in gallery and public spaces. Based on this interest, Alexandre will share during the workshop how this transformation is choreographed, through teaching and showing excerpts, and discussing about concepts and methodologies behind these artworks.

Workshop 2 with Marie-Lena (German/English)
for students & professionals
3:30 – 5:30 PM Café Ada, Wiesenstraße 6, 42105 Wuppertal

In this dance improvisation workshop, Marie-Lena Kaiser gives an insight into the time she spent with choreographer Horacio Macuacua as part of her fellowship. During the workshop in which Marie-Lena combines her experiences from her fellowship with her own approach to improvisation, participants will work together to awaken their personal creativity in order to play with situations and to translate them into movement. In addition, the participants' perceptions of their surroundings and actions will be stimulated by the expression and the moments experienced together in a room

Workshop 3 with Scott (English)
for students & professionals
6 – 7:30 PM Café Ada, Wiesenstraße 6, 42105 Wuppertal

The workshop will focus on physical tasks and improvisation similar to what Scott experienced during his fellowship with partner Marina Mascarell. Workshop 5 with Kareth (German/English)
for all those interested, also without previous knowledge
11AM – 1 PM Milton Camilo Studio Friedrich-Engels-Allee 161, 42285 Wuppertal

Kareth Schaffer studied for three months classical Balinese dance and Gamelan from Putu Evie Suyadnyani in Bali as part of her fellowship. Classical Balinese dance, understood as a gift from and for the gods, is characterized by precise movements of the head, hands and feet. Even the facial expressions can be part of the choreography. In this workshop, Kareth will pass on the basic "Agem" and standard movements of the traditional female character, before finally merging all the movements in Pendet Penyambutan, the traditional welcome dance.

Registration for the workshop is public and accessible to all who enjoy exercise and like to try new things - even with no dance experience! Classical Balinese dance is preferably danced barefoot. Participants are welcome to bring their own Sarong (sportswear is also ok!).
