Enrique Rivera

Enrique Rivera is an independent curator and researcher. He studied audio visual art at the Film School of Chile, and the University of Chile followed by art direction at Universidad Mayor. Enrique Rivera has conducted a series of research and installations in various countries, based on the use of electric energy and intangible means as a representation strategy, a field of practice that has expanded towards his curatorial research. He founded and directed the Person Gallery in Santiago (2003) and began the video art archive of the Center for Documentation of the La Moneda Cultural Center in conjunction with Isabel GarcĂ­a in 2004. Moreover, he researched and developed the exhibition related to the www.cybersyn.cl project at the ZKM in Karlsruhe, Germany. Enrique Rivera is the director of the Bienal de Artes Mediales de Chile (www.bvam.cl) and president of the Chilean Video and Electronic Arts Corporation. Currently he is concentrating on the curatorial framework for the 13th Media Arts Biennial, themed around the relationship between humans and the forces of nature, and the research and residency program of art and astronomy artesespaciales.cchv.cl.
